The OBD-II fault code P1101 on a Chevrolet Cruze (and any other General Motors vehicle, as well as many other OBD-II equipped vehicles) means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an error in the mass air flow (MAF) sensor system. You may also see codes P1001, P1100, P1102, P1103, P1104, or P1105, which point to the same system. If You're having issues with Your MAF sensor, You'll often see Your check engine light illuminate -- this is likely how You saw the code in the first place. You may also notice poor engine performance, erratic performance, rough idling, poor fuel economy, or reduced power. If You're seeing this, You should get Your MAF sensor replaced at Your earliest convenience; while the issue starts small, it can quickly lead to serious engine problems.

I had the code come up on my fixd code reader. But in my case, I’m thinking I could have a faulty gas cap, as I put a little oil around the rubber ring and at the top of the filler tube that will have contact with the ring when done fuelling, and the engine check light will turn off for me. The engine runs normal even when-the light turns back on, so thinking it is the problem. Anybody else have feedback to this?

I have this same issue, when I run my OBD II reader, it shows PIP5684 which runs with the P1101 code. I found out it is a boost leak and https://youtu.be/heQYgmcGnHI has a boost leak tester. I listened to the video multiple times and was able to get all the pieces from Lowe’s and the 1/4” fuel hose from an auto shop like O’Reillys. At this point, I’m trying to find the boost leak and which sealant to use for when I find the leak. Hope this helps!
CP1101 code I have replaced the mass airflow sensor the code still comes on
