The 2012 Chevy Impala's StabiliTrak uses wheel sensors and driver's input to ensure engine power is distributed to the axles and brakes safely in slippery or hazardous road conditions. The "Service StabiliTrak Warning" indicates the system is not responding or operating as it should. This can be caused by any one of the components used to implement the system. Faulty wheel sensors are one of the most common reasons why StabiliTrak might malfunction. Sensors can get d***y or damaged over time and the vehicle's diagnostics will be unable to read data from the wheels correctly. A failed brake switch will also disable the system as well as the wrong size of tire. The cost of replacing the Impala's wheel sensor averages $100-$120 in parts and labor.

The service StabiliTrak light on the 2012 Chevrolet Impala could mean different things. It could mean that the systen has been turned off, it is receiving a bad signal or the system is malfunctioning. If the warning light stays on it is recommended to take the vehicle in for service.
