The SXT package for the Dodge Avenger stands for "Standard Extra". You might also see RT, which is Road Track, SRT, which is Street and Racing Technology, and the ever boring SE which just means Standard Edition. You probably want to know You get with the SXT package, other than another $3,000 tacked on to the sales price, eh OK, the only really big difference is that instead of A4-speed automatic with overdrive, You get A6-speed multi-speed automatic with over-drive and auto-manual. So, it's in the transmission. The engine remains that same, a 173-hp, 2.4-liter 4Cylinder, and it gets the same mpg (24) as the SE. Now, the RT's interesting, in that it has the same transmission as the SXT, but changes the engine out to a 3.6-liter V6, witH283 horsepower; that doesn't come free, though, as the R/T trim is another $2k more than the SXT, so $5k more than the base SE. Hope that helps clarify it for You!

Sxt on a dodge avenger stands for standard extra. The trim is very similar to the standard one, but it has a few extra improvements.
