Theft code 13 on a Ford F-150 means that You are using the wrong key to try to start the truck. The key in Your truck has a transponder in it and this communicates with the receiver in the truck to disarm the alarm system. If this does not match up it will give You a code. Usually a Code 13 happens the most in a situation where You have a fleet of trucks and accidentally grab the wrong key. A good way to test the key is to use the button on the fob to unlock or lock the truck to make sure that You are getting into the right one.

Wile cranking use start fluid see if it runs. If it does its not the key more like a fuel problem.

If you are receiving a theft code 13 on your ford f150 it means you are using the incorrect key to start the ignition.

I had theft code 13 and it went away when I found the airbag keyed switch disconnected. I cleaned it and plugged it back up. The airbag light went off and the truck returned to normal.

I'm having the same code. My truck was stolen and they attempted to start with screwdriver. When I Got it out of impound it cranks and won't start

I’ve been having the same problem for weeks now sometimes it works sometimes no, I tried everything . Disconnections the battery to the pcm and nothing seems to work , so I took out my column under my steering wheel and there’s a green plug underneath where your key goes in . I believe that’s the transponder.Unplug that and plug it in the same time you put your key forward you’d plug the transponder in and somehow disabled 4 times for me hope to help soemone still ongoing problem but this trick can get you home without tow .
