The maintenance required warning light means that, according to the maintenance schedule and based upon the distance driven, maintenance is required on your vehicle. This light normally comes and flashes for a few seconds after 4,500 miles have been driven since the last time it was reset. The light will come on and stay on if 5,000 or more miles have been driven since the light was last reset. Necessary maintenance is required, and once performed, the light can be reset.
