The wrench light on the 2006 Ford explore is the check engine light. There is no way to reset the check engine light on the vehicle. It comes on when there is something wrong with the car, but it can be caused by just about anything. Due to this, it is not worth Your time hunting down a random issue unless it is something very obvious that has gone wrong. The best thing to do is take the car to a mechanic and let them scan it with an OBD tool. This will allow them to read the trouble code and tell You where the problem is. Once You know that You can go about getting it fixed, which will turn off the light. One thing to check however is the gas cap and fuel door. If the cap is missing or the door is open then the light will come on. This is a silly thing to go to the mechanic over, so make sure You check it first.

The wrench light is a malfunction with the driveline. Not a check engine light. The check engine light is still the same shape it's always been.. If the trans is slipping the wrench light will come on and could possibly stick you in "limp mode"wont shift gearscant drive fast. Mine does that off and on. I usually shut the truck off and start it back up and problem is solved..

The 2006 Ford Explorer wrench indicator light means you have a concern in the fly by wire throttle actuation. You no longer have a cable, but a computer controls the throttle for speed opening or a trans concern. The most common problem is the throttle position sensor on the throttle body is bad.

The ? Light can be from any number of things from low oil to transmission problems. It's a service light for several things.
