As the driver of a 2006 Honda Accord, You will notice over the years that a variety of lights will appear on Your dashboard. These usually indicate it is time from routine maintenance, but sometimes it can indicate something is wrong. Thankfully, the appearance of a wrench light on Your dash is nothing to be worried about. It is just telling You that it's time for service. Every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever occurs first, You will need to have Your oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and power steering drained and replaced. You will also need components such as belts checked or replaced, and oil filters, gas filters, and cabin air filters checked for dirt and clogs, or changed.

When you see a percentage, that entails how much oil life you have. The yellow wrench light and a low percentage popped up on my dashboard one day but I knew my car was past due for an oil change. After a week or 2 of procrastinating, I finally went in to get an oil change. Turns out I have an oil leak in my engine so now I make sure to store extra oil in my car for emergency purposes. If you start to see percentage symbols with the wrench light, be aware that your car needs maintenance and an oil change. It could also mean that you have an oil leak like I discovered.

The 2006 Honda Accord symbols tell you when a certain feature is being used or when your car needs minor maintenance. A few common Honda Accord indicator lights include: Maintenance Minder Indicator Light: A yellow wrench on your dashboard means your Honda Accord is due for routine maintenance.

All Honda's use these maintenance reminder codes....but just to be clear, your oil (if using synthetic oil) should be changed every 5000 miles...in response to Marie B.'s post...you do not need to have your transmission, brake fluid and/or power steering fluid drained and replaced every10,000 miles...that's absurd. Follow the Honda service interval schedule...but as a good rule of thumb..service your automatic transmission every 50k miles..brake fluid and power steering fluid around the same time. If you do these things, the car will run indefinitely.
