The little wrench light on the lower left of the instrument cluster in the 2009 Ford Focus is the Throttle Control/Transmission warning light. When You firSTStart the car, this light will briefly come on. If the light stays on, there has been a problem detected somewhere within the powertrain system or transmission and You should have the vehicle serviced immediately. A full diagnostic will need to be ran on the Focus to determine the exact cause of the system fault. You can expect to pay somewhere between $90.00 and $110 to have a general diagnosis done. This requires a special diagnostic scan tool that connects to the obd 2 port that reads the vehicles data to find the cause of the faults.

The orange wrench light lets the driver know that the vehicle should be brought in for routine maintenance to ensure the vehicle is at peak performance.
