Your 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier useS6.9 quarts of transmission fluid. You'll want to put in some ATF Dexron III/Mercon, which is a common brand for this. To fill, You'll want to remove the red cap that You'll find under Your engine hood, that is labelled "Transmission". You don't want to overfill, though, so be careful. The best way to measure, is to park on a level surface, and with the engine running, remove the dipstick, wipe it with a cloth, re-insert it, pull it back out, and look at the fluid levels on the metal. If it's not between MIN and MAX, You'll need to top it off with some fluid.

1.8 Quarts is what it takes to do a complete drain and refill of the 2003 chevy cavalier transmission fluid tank.
