The 2004Chevrolet Malibu does not use power steering fluid so there is no power steering reservoir for the car. Instead of power steering fluid, the vehicle uses an electric power steering system also known as the EPS. With the electronic power steering system it doesn't need the pump, hose and drive belt like regular. The Malibu has been using the EPS since 2004 but before that it used the reservoir. There is no set lifespan for the EPS but when it is about to fail You the EPS light will come up on in the dash or You will have loss of power steering assist. If it goes bad, the cost of a new one is anywhere from $140 to $390 depending on where You get it from.
