Your 2005 Ford 500 uses the standard 50/50 green antifreeze as a coolant. The engine coolant system capacity is 11.6 US. Quarts. The coolant can become more acidic over time and lose its rust-inhibiting properties, causing corrosion. Corrosion can damage the radiator, water pump, thermostat, radiator cap, hoses, and other parts of the cooling system, as well as to the vehicle heater system. And that can cause a car engine to overheat. A typical mechanic will recommend changing coolant every 30,000 miles. You cannot just keep adding coolant without ever flushing and changing it.

I own a Ford 500, it does NOT use green coolant from the factory. Look at the degas bottle on the car. It shows yellow coolant. If the entire system has been flushed, it is possible that it has been refilled with green.

Just a used 2005 ford 500 in excellent condition, low mileage. It currently has green coolant in it, I can not find any green coolant for ford vehicles anywhere. Newer fords use orange. Recommended for older fords though is gold/yellow; dependenton coolant brand.

The Ford Five Hundred uses Motorcraft Gold coolant, not the standard green coolant that Garrett A. Say it uses. If you mix different coolant types you can end up having a gel effect from mixing different coolant types.
