The 2017 Honda CR-V electric parking brake problems usually happen when there is a problem with the battery. Most of the parking brake systems of the past used either a cable or vacuum assist to engage the parking brake. With the CR-V it has an electronic actuator that will engage and disengage it. If You have a battery problem and the vehicle's voltage drops below 12v then it is likely that the actuator system will encounter a problem. It may get stuck on or off depending on the state it was in when the voltage drop happened. Usually You will have to visit a dealer to allow them to inspect and reset the brake system.

My electric parking brake froze on me...wouldn’t allow me to start the car...Also told me my tire pressure was bad and fleft me stranded unable to start the car. Had to have a tow to dealer. It was the battery! Flashed all kinds of bells and whistles among other things . Battery replaced by Honda FREE under 3 year new car warranty for a 2017 CRV-ex When the battery gets so low it doesn’t support the electric parking brake system because I guess it needs to much power to work and just locks up. My guess.
