If You are having emissions problems, either from a trouble code, a fuel smell, or failing an emissions test on the 2017 Honda Ridgeline then You have a couple of places to look. The first is the O2 sensor. These make sure the air to fuel mixture is right in the car. If the sensor goes bad then it will run rich, which will allow the fuel to leak in gas form. If there is damage to the catalytic converter or the EVAP canister then You also have emissions in the cap, which will smell like rotten eggs. Fixing any of these will eliminate this problem. While You can drive with this issue it is not good for the car or Your health.

The 2017 honda ridgeline emissions system had an issue that was caused by injector failure and need to be replaced.
Emission System Failure light notice, significant reduction in power felt, vehicle started giving 4000 RPM gaining 45 mph on hill and max 71 mph from down the hill. Engine start revving , vehicle start shaking. Spent 5 hours to get home at night, a smell from an exhaust pipe is awful, it seems I lost 4th and 5th gear ( based on my understanding), gas consumption fall from 25 mpg to 18.1 ( long distance drive). I'm the first owner, vehicle has only 71K . Computer states Service required # 16 . Curious if anybody solve such a problem and how. Carteocean@yahoo.com would be nice to respond.
