In short, the life of a Toyota Tacoma is whatever You make of it. You'll read anecdotal stories on the internet of drivers getting upwards of 300,000 miles out of their Tacoma, but that's not exactly the norm. If I had to guess, I would say "average" is somewhere around 150,000 miles, but that doesn't always have to be the case. If You take good care of Your truck -- including regular maintenance and smooth driving -- You can probably expect upwards of 200,000 miles. Add in some serious preventative maintenance and You may be looking at 250,000 miles or more. If You also happen to get incredibly lucky, driving the truck for 300,000 miles or more certainly isn't out of the question.

I personally drive a 2008 Tacoma 2.7l 4WD manual with 398k miles and it is my daily driver. I expect to hit 500k before it is done! (If the rust doesnt get to it first)

My beloved 2005 Tacoma has finally died this past Monday. Layla as I called her made it to about 326,000 miles. She barely runs due to a bad cylinder that is bad and only chugs along. I've just purchased a used 2021 Tacoma today. Let's hope she las the legs to go the distance.

I have two tacomas. Both are in excellent condition. One is a 1996 two wheel drive manual 4 cyl, with 190,000 miles on it, and the other is a 2008 4 wheel drive manual 4 cyl. With 145,000 miles on it. They both drive perfectly.

Toyota trucks are very well known as having a long lifespan. You should expect to go 15 years or more before having any sort of major repair work done. Depending on if the truck is driven on salted roads, you can expect it to last beyond 20 years or more.
