The 2004 Ford Explorer was available in a total of five different configurations, including the XLS, the XLT, the NBX, the Eddie Bauer edition, and the Limited. Across these trims, two different stock tires were used -- You'd either have had the P235/70R16 tires of the XLS and XLT, or the P245/65R17 tires of the NBX, Eddie Bauer, and Limited. I say this because though the wheel bolt pattern is the same, these tires and rims are not necessarily universally interchangeable -- the latter tires sit on a 17 inch rim, while the former sit on 16. Still, each version of the 04 Explorer has a bolt pattern of 5x114.3 with A70.6mm center bore. Each wheel uses five lug nuts, which each have thread measuring 1/2" - 20 UNF.
