The fuel leaks recall on the Chevy HHR are the result of corrosion of the metal fuel lines underneath the vehicle towards the rear and in the vicinity of the left rear wheel well. The recall cover 614,000 vehicles. The corrosion occurs at the polymer blocks that attach the fuel lines to the underbody and underneath an insulation wrap-heat shield adjAccent to the exhaust pipe and muffler. There were no reports of fires or injuries from such leaks. Owners will be notified or can call Your Chevy dealer to set up the repair.

My 2009 has the leak as discussed and dealer says no recall for 2009, but $850 GM repair? What happened to NHTSA investigation in 2020?

Although NHTSA opened an investigation in July 2020, it has not progressed and at this time there is no recall due to the fuel line corrosion issue present in the HHR and Cobalt.
Apparently Jeff is an inept mechanic! No car is perfect, but these are great little inexpensive cars and very reliable.

I work on cars they built this car like c**p replaced both front axels all four wheel bearings water pump replaced the header cracked from exhaust clogging up and getting to hot and who every designed the exhaust on this car what was he thinking with that meshed pipe and now this fuel lines leaking ready to blow this thing up what going to fall apart next lmao
You can get your gas line leak for frepe. Gm willaid for it

I've got the same problem with my 2010 HHR and the GM Dealership here in Mooresvill In. Says they have never heard of anything like that? Said they would fix it but l would have to pay fr it myself..l think we should have a class action law sute Gsinst GM. ???

My 2011 HHR has the same problem but info on the recall says only up to 2009. To the person who said they have a 2020 HHR, they didn't make them then....could have been a typo though.

I have a 2009 that has the same issue, along with a few others. They all sound the same. But like everyone else, no recall, and now I am stuck with the bill to fix or come up more cash to get a new one. AND because if the issues, no trade in value.

Got a 2020 HHR..I have always thought GM was the only cars to have.. Since they won't fix the gas leak on my car...even though they've had hundreds of combines about the gas leaks???

I've got a 2007 HHR with the same issue. Dealer says I'm SOL,no recall on mine . I think we're all getting the bums rush. One things for sure I'm simply 😠
