What is the chevy silverado paint recall about?

Got a 2014 Silverado High Country Pearl White. The paint is peeling off both back doors and now by the windshield. Is there actually a recall? I have tried several times to get help from GM.

2014 Silverado silver paint started bubbling on door and roof above windshield about 1 year ago. Vehicle is well cared for, well maintained and parked in garage every single night. NO damage just paint bubbling and flaking in exactly the same spots as others I have seen online. Took it to the Chevy dealer who said "Yeah that is NOT normal and there is NO rust or chips.." I provided him a Chevy paint recall/bulletin#, he looked into it and said "Sorry your VIN is not affected.." This is totally bogus and this paint should NOT be flaking off. I'm sick of being raked over the coals here and ready to ditch GM altogether. Loyal customers deserve proper customer service, not this blind-eye BS.

The batch of paint used in certain models was bad and the paint was very prone to chipping, so it was recalled to be repainted.

Chevy is a joke, reported delaminating on both wheel wells, huge flakes coming off and they claim it’s rock chips. Absolutely ridiculous that a 2 year old truck needs paint. I have a 2011 Silverado 2500 z71 and the hood and tailgate has started peeling and chipping. It just comes off with pressure from a standard water house so are we not suppose to wash our trucks? I think GM should repaint my truck. There are other issues as well with the paint but that’s the biggest complaint.

No recall......just got off the phone with GM customer assistance....to add insult to injury he said he has never heard of paint peeling off !!! My 2014 Silverado tri coat high country paint is coming off in sheets.....53000.00 truck now worth only salvage with no paint on it !!! Less than 50000 miles and mint condition before this.....way to go GM for taking care of your customers !!!! Good Grief !!!

I have a 2016 Suburban LS and found out today the clear coat has failed. Now if GM says they will repaint Silverados they should repaint the Suburban. It looks like scratches and has mold spots..

Just for the record I contacted GM about two years ago about peeling paint,around 100k mile mark and they said they had never heard of this issue. I see a common complaint here, how has so manycontacted GM and yet they had never heard of it . What a joke.

My brother- in- law has a 2014 gm white crew an peeling down to the primer…obviously the primer/paint has failed to bond…I’m a retired firefighter and worked as head painter for many years… I remember Ford had an identical paint scenario in the mid/late 90’s that Ford paid dealers to strip and completely repaint said vehicles under warranty…That is why I drive two near new Ford vehicles today…Unfortunately, Ford gives the goldmine warranty, General Motors, the “SHAFT!”

2014 Silverado crew cab (White in color). Bought the truck in 2015 the rear driver door is peeling by the bottom left corner of the window and now top left corner of the roof. This looks like a manufacturer defect. Will go with a Toyota truck next time. I haven’t submitted a complaint to GM, but I already am expecting a F off as an answer.

19 Silverado black. I'ma detailer and this is worse black paint I'veever seen on a car. I have spots coming up from underneath the paint and there'snothing you cando to repair em. 2020 Silverado 2500HD High Country - Oxford Brown - paint is peeling off both bumpers, Took it to the dealership, they took photos then sent me to the body shop to get an estimate for re-paint. Sent the quote to GM. That was in July, got a call yesterday (after calling the dealership weekly and GM Customer Service weekly) from the dealership stating that GM was covering the re-paint of the rear bumper, but the front bumper was caused by rock chips. I refuted that as the cracks, bubbling, tearing of the paint started underneath the parking sensors then spidered out from there. Sent new photos where it is evident that no chips are missing from the paint to the dealership and GM rep. Hopefully, I hear good news within a few days. Truck had 18K miles when first reported and 21K now. Ridiculous!!!

2019 Ltrailboss. Just switched brands because of this. My truck has 41000 km and is pealing at the wheel wells. All 4 doors are covered in rock chips. It seems like I can't even look at a dirt road without causing some damage.

My 2015 Malibuis fucked and I'm pissed, the paint is scratching way too easily and the top is already bubbling in spots from an obvious defect, this is unacceptable.
