The Chevy TrailBlazer rear door latch recall is related to the door latch failing and needing to be replaced. In some cases, the mount that secures the latch would come loose. This would allow the latch some slack and it could break open when the car is driving at speed. As such the latch was recalled and replaced with a new one that does not pose this issue. If Your vehicle is not within the recall window You can have the latch replaced Yourself for about 70 dollars and an hour of Your time. It should be obvious if it is loose though, so this is up to You if You feel it is needed or not.
