The reasons why you need a 2021 trailblazer!
It is my absolute favorite vehicle I have ever owned! It has a lot of safety features and the gas mileage is good! It takes about 20 dollars to fill up! Comfy modern 2021 trailblazer.
The interior is super modern and comfortable. Back seat is roomy and does not make you feel like your knees are in your chest. Drives smoothly with great power for a 3 cylinder. My vehicle rides smoothly.
My vehicle has been always reliable for my family and never caused me any performance problems. This vehicle is a top notch performer for me in of the Illinois weather changes. The service or maintenance on this vehicle is not expensive either and I never get left without a car due to the manufacturer.

Super cute, fast and stylish.
I love my SUV. It is the perfect size, the color is great. Super stylish and I love all the amazing features it came with. So far their haven’t been any problems. The only thing I am having to get used to is the lane assist. Sometimes going through construction it does not recognize the new lines and it tries to correct me.

The Chevy trailblazer 2021 version.
It is very comfortable. Rides really well. It handles well in the wind. The adaptive cruise control is nice, but can be something to get used to. The lane change system is very nice, and a good safety feature for a lot of people, as some people could be distracted and slowly move into another lane without realizing, and the vehicle will move you back quickly and safely and will alert you. The automatic high beams is also something nice to have. Many times I will forget about having them on and could possibly be hurting someone's vision of the road, but this automatically turns them off as soon as headlights are sensed.

Great family car with safety features.
The Chevy trailblazer is a reliable vehicle and drives comfortably. I enjoy all the safety features including lane departure warning, the backup camera, the mirror warning lights (for your blind spots) and the crash indicator. I also appreciate the seat warmers and the 4wd as we live in New England.

My vehicle I would describe it as safe.
My vehicle is great it does not have many problems so far it has been running just fine I got it about a month ago so maybe in the later run I might have some issues with the vehicle, but for now this car is great and maybe you can possibly try it. Have fun on the road and stay safe.

Interesting little vehicle but gets the job done.
Still new. No mechanical issues that I am aware of. Louder than most, lots of electronic clicking noises when turning the engine off. Comfortable. Drives well. Very affordable small SUV. I do have some concerns about longevity due to the sounds and clicks heard now.

What Do Critics Say About the Chevy Trailblazer?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer offers an impressive level of standard safety features, with average owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Trailblazer at 3.6/5, praising the roomy seating for a small SUV, but doesn’t like the weak base engine.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Trailblazer a 4.6/5, enjoying the standard technology features, but owners don’t like the cheap interior materials.

What Common Problems Does the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Have?

Common complaints found on the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer include premature brake wear, the transmission changing gears slowly, along with the stereo system freezing. Overall, these problems are similar to a lot of other small SUVs on the market, leading to average repair costs as the Trailblazer ages.

Premature brake wear is the most widespread complaint on the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, showing up at around 20,000 miles. The front brake pads in particular tend to wear out faster than in other vehicles. Replacing the front brake pads costs around $150, while a set of rotors is an additional $250 if they have been damaged by metal-on metal contact.

The transmission changing gears slowly is another issue on the Trailblazer in the first 5,000 miles. There are some transmission control module software updates available which can speed up the transmission along with making the gear changes smoother. Most dealers will install the updates for free, while some charge around $100.

The stereo system freezing up also shows up on some Trailblazer models at around 1,500 miles. There are software updates available for the stereo system as well, which improves its reliability. Usually, dealers will install these updates for free as part of normal servicing, although some do charge around $50.

There are four recalls on the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, which is similar to some other small SUVs from the same year. The most serious recall covers a sensor on the electronic brake booster, which may be contaminated. Chevy will replace the booster on affected models for free. Other recalls cover the emergency jack, and tire pressure labels.

How Long Will the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Last?

A well-maintained 2021 Chevy Trailblazer can last around 225,000 miles, which is shorter than other small SUVs like the Toyota RAV4. Regular annual maintenance costs are slightly higher than average, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $500 per year.

As a used 2021 Chevy Trailblazer reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the transmission shift interlock solenoid for $300, fuel injectors costing $550, along with the control arm bushings which cost $600.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is great for a small SUV, offering a standard 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Optional upgrades include a larger 8-inch touchscreen along with a Bose premium stereo system.

Standard safety technology is also excellent for an SUV in its price range with:

  • Rearview camera
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane departure warning
  • Teen driver
  • Pedestrian detection
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Lane keep assist

Optional advanced driver assistance features include:

  • Rear parking sensors
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Adaptive cruise control

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer a Good Value?

Yes, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is a good value since it’s cheaper than many other small SUVs on the market while still being a practical choice. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $19,350 to $26,775, making it less than a Honda CR-V or Mazda CX-5. When new, the price range was $19,000 to $27,000. Depreciation is better than average, only losing about 2% of its current value per year, although in normal times we expect it to lose about 8%.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The second generation of the Chevrolet Trailblazer was introduced in 2021 after being out of production in the United States since 2009.

2009: 5.3L V8 engine removed from the lineup, Bluetooth added, final model year for the Chevrolet Trailblazer until 2021.

2021: All-new small SUV model designed to fit between the Chevy Trax and Chevy Equinox.

2022: Standard satellite radio, optional trailering package, L model discontinued.

2023: No major changes from earlier years.

How Does the Chevy Trailblazer Compare to the Competition?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a decent small SUV if you’re on a budget since it still features a lot of the latest safety technology, although predicted long-term reliability ratings are lower than some of the competition.

The Chevy Equinox is another compact SUV offered by Chevrolet, which is around $3,000 more. Passenger room is better in the Chevy Equinox, while the Chevy Trailblazer offers better standard safety technology. We recommend the Chevy Trailblazer since it’s more advanced and costs less money.

The Toyota RAV4 is a popular small SUV which is about $5,500 more. Long-term reliability ratings are better in the Toyota RAV4, while the Chevy Trailblazer is more maneuverable on small city streets. We recommend the Toyota RAV4 since it’s one of the most reliable small SUVs on the market.

Great new redesigned SUV, and a good price.
I was one of the first people in my town to buy this new SUV. I have not had any problems with it. Drives great, roomy. Not as small at the trax, but not as big at the equinox. I like the blind spot tracker on the side mirrors, heated seats, front and rear crash detectors.

Sleek, responsive, incredibly fuel-efficient SUV.
I love this car. The biggest factors that sold me on it were fuel economy, handling, and look/design. I was looking for an SUV for more space and elevation, and the trailblazer was the perfect size. It provides the room I was looking for in an SUV, but it does not feel heavy, bulky, or labored to drive. I was blown away by how it handled and responded (steering, gas, brakes, etc). It is also so sleep and sharp-looking and really stands out from other cars on the road. The clincher for me was the fuel economy, which is around 28 mpg. That was unheard to me for an SUV and made my decision easy. Also, in the trim I have all of the safety features that I never had in my older car: blind spot monitoring, rearview camera and detector, lane keep assist. The only missing for personal preference is storage for sunglasses, like a compartment near the mirror, but that is minor. I am so happy with my purchase.

So far, my vehicle has had no issues. The performance is perfect, the brand is reliable, the car is comfortable, and it has all features a 2021 should have. I have the luxury model, not the sport, not the base model. I do wish it had a heated steering wheel.

Trailblazer: definitely recommend!
I love my car! It was the perfect option! I started out with a Cruze then went to a tax which I liked but wanted something a little bigger and with more space. I wasn't quite ready to get the equinox or anything bigger because that was too much space and size, but the trailblazer was perfect! It had a lot of updates and specs included that the trax didn’t and was exactly what I was looking for. Definitely recommend.

My new car is the best car ever.
Drives amazing, has the best safety features, best gas mileage. Compact yet roomie has plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Has phone Bluetooth and you can add on any extras you would like. And the price of the car is amazing for the model year. Love the backup camera and the extra side safety features. Brought my car insurance down due to all safety features. My family feel as if I am much more safe in this car than any other. Chevy is a very reliable brand and brings a lot to the game of car shopping. Gets 32-36 a gallon of gas. Best air and heat I have ever had. Drives like a luxury car. Very smooth and very nice. All wheel drive is the best. Will beep if seatbelts are took off or not put on while driving also has a rear seat reminder for long trips so you do not forget what’s in the back seat. Love the key fob simple and cute. Not a push to start (which I personally love). Would recommend to any of my friends.

Looks awesome! Six foot three very comfortable and easy to get in and out of. 3 cylinder was almost deal breaker, plenty of power around town I drive 50 miles a day on a major interstate and I drive fast and it keeps up but you pay at the pump! 13 gallon tank and poor gas mileage are only complaints!

Love the Chevy trailblazer. Handles wind and rain really well. Turbocharged is amazing and really picks up speed fast. Perfect back seat for 2 car seats. Heated seats are nice and actually keep you warm. The trunk space is amazing and can fit a bunch of stuff. It maxes out at a kids atv from Walmart but it holds our kids stuff + groceries perfectly.

I have only had it for about 3 days, but it is perfect so far. The only thing I do not like is that I have to turn off auto shut off every time I get in the car. Other than that I love it.
