The 2009 Toyota Corolla comes in two different engine configurations; You'll either be fitted with the 1.8L 4Cylinder, or the 2.4L 4Cylinder. The smaller of the two engines, the 1.8L 4Cylinder, uses the Bentolin 64.5mm oil filter wrench, specifically designed for that engine. It's recommended that You use this tool; any attempts to compromise can lead to damage to Your oil filter housing. It will be $10 well spent -- this is what they can be found for on Amazon. The larger 2.4L engine requires a universal tool, since nothing is made specifically for it. My documentation points to a Universal 2.5 inch to 3.25 inch oil filter wrench from a reputable brand of Your choosing. I personally prefer MotivX Tools, but several manufacturers provide a suitable solution.
