To reset the airbag light on the ford f-150, try putting the key into the ignition and putting it in the on position. After the airbag light turns on and then off, turn the switch off and wait 3 seconds. Repeat this step one or two more times. Start the engine.

Airbag light doesn't go off after putting the key in the on position.
Mylight is now off on my 97 f-150 lariat but when I crank it up I hear 5 tones from the glove compartment. Area how can I silence the tones. The do stop after a few minutes

Turning key several times as stated worked it clear upon startup. It looked like it was going to stay on but it went off on starting the engine thanks

If you were in an accident & airbags were deployed. Only way to clear the light would be to change the defective parts: • steering wheel & passenger dashboard Air Bags; • if defective, seatbelt tensioner or retractor. Must scan the ECU before replacing any seatbelt parts. If the light is still on after completing those repairs. You must send the airbag module for a reset programing.
The key works for me too. The top answer here is wrong. The air bag light will come on, along with the passenger air bag off light, if a light weight object such as a car seat or backpack is placed in the passengers seat. This is a safety feature. Sometimes it will go away automatically after the item is removed but if not the key reset also worked for me.
