If You're getting the "Service AdvanceTrac" light in Your Ford F-150, You have a few options. The first and simplest option is to gain access to an OBD-II scan tool, clear the relevant codes (hopefully after You've made any necessary repairs, if applicable), and the light should go out. However, it's understandable that not everyone has access to such scanners. The good news is that there are other ways that require no expensive tools. It's important to note that disconnecting the battery with the ignition off will not wipe out this error. First, You'll need to turn the ignition on without the motor running. Then, disconnect Your battery for at least five minutes, with the ignition in the "ON" position the entire duration. Then, reconnect Your battery, and start the car. This should have, ideally, cleared Your code and turned off the illuminated AdvanceTrac light.

Problem on my 2011 F150 5.0 V8 Sometimes the "check advance track" system goes on and sometimes the vehicle goes into limp mode. The only way I can fix it is to turn the switch plunger that is situated underneath the brake pedal so that the yellow rubber boot ( on the tip of the plunger) face down. Can you suggest a permanent solution to this problem? Keep in mind that I lived in Namibia (Africa) and knowledgeable mechanics and parts for imported vehicles like mine is not available. Should I need to replace a part, can you please supply part number as well as contact information of supplier. I will very much appreciate any help in this regard. Thank you

On a ford f150 to reset the service advancetrac light you can either allow it to cycle the engine a few times, if that does not work you will need an obd ii scan tool to clear the code.
