The airbag system in Your Ford Fusion is there to protect You in the event of an accident so when You see that there is a fault with the system then that is something You will want to inspect. I generally recommend getting the vehicle checked by an authorized service center to make sure that there are no faults with the airbag system. If everything looks okay then You can reset the airbag warning light on the dash. To do it first put the vehicle in the on position without the engine running. Watch the airbag light and as soon as it turns off You will need to turn off the car. Repeat this two more times for a total of three cycles. After that You can start the engine and the light should be on for seven seconds then turn off completely.

Switch the auto key on the ignition switch. Wait until the warning light on the airbag turns off. Turn your car's ignition switch back off for just over three seconds. Repeat steps 1 through 3 twice, making a total of three times. Switch the ignition switch back on for the airbag light to reset completely.

I just smacked my dashboard twice and it worked just fine. Maybe my parents did do something right.

Door handle switch circuit failure fault came up under TPMS/PATS after OBDII scan. Cleared fault. Airbag light no longer on.

Hey Ray. How do you clear the fault? I'm having a battery drain issue with my 2017 Fusion S. Through my research online I found that supposedly it's from my DDS (driver door system?). The door handle/ window controls. It makes sense because the rear passenger window won't roll up automatically(even if reprogramed) and when I hold it down while in park it bogs the engine a little bit. Like it's using too much power. For some of the cars I found that it needs a firmware update. Which supposedly is this long intricate thing. Could ya help me out?
