The Ford Fusion check engine light reset procedure can be followed by watching: https://www.Youtube.com/watch?v=FOtXMC3y3fM Having high quality oil is important for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into issues with the oil at some point. Bad oil can cause the engine to stop working. A common problem is an awful burning smell. This needs to be inspected as soon as possible or the car might explode. Knocking noise may arise from the engine. You could experience poor gas mileage. Your oil needs to be replaced eventually. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles is a good rule of thumb. If You don't replace it, there will be issues with the engine.

To reset the check engine light on a ford fusion, turn the key from on to off three times, then drive the car.

Scan tool works best I've found. I tried the "Turn the key on & off 3 times." which didn't work for me, the scan tool worked.

The best way to do this is get a scan tool and plug it into the car. This will clear any codes and reset the whole thing.
