The Ford Fusion Hybrid uses yellow 50/50 dex cool antifreeze or coolant in its system. This means that it comes pre-diluted as a mix of half water and half coolant. ThiS-TYPE of antifreeze prevents damage to the engine that could occur from using an undiluted fluid in the reservoir. This coolant can be purchased in one quart and one gallon containers. You can expect to pay between $4 and $30 per container. If You instead choose to have the fluid replaced by a mechanic or automotive service technician, You will need to pay an additional $40 to $98 in labor.

All of the above answers are absolutely positively wrong. You DO NOT under any circumstances use "Dex-Cool". Dex-Cool is for systems requiring Orange coolant. Hybrid systems require Ford Yellow Coolant. Do not be tempted to use "Any Color" antifreeze such as those that say that on certain store brand and Prestone Coolant bottles. Orange Coolant is OAT formulated with 2EHA. Yellow is ethylene glycol-based antifreeze/coolant. The two should never be mixed. Also be warned not to put "Golden" colored Coolant in your bottle either. Be especially careful about introducing plain water to the hybrid system. Flush with distilled water, and refill with distilled water only. These systems are sensitive to clogging with minerals.
