The auto high beam problem light that comes on in the dash of a Honda CR-V means that there is a problem with the high beam detection system. Your high beams will automatically turn on when conditions are clear, and will turn off when it detects that there is another vehicle ahead of You or coming towards You. The system uses a camera on the front of Your car to detect when there are other vehicles. If this camera is d***y then it may not work properly. It could also be a software problem that is preventing it from working. To reset the software system grab the high beam stalk on the dash and pull it towards You and hold it for 40 seconds until the light turns off.

The auto high beam problem in a honda cr-v is related to the headlight lever not being engaged, to reengage it you need to pull the lever towards you for 40 seconds.
Thanks. That was quicker than a call to the dealer. After holding the high beam lever back for 40 seconds it didn't work at first. I did it again and restarted the car. It went away. ?

While driving over 25 mph at night, alternately pulling back on my high beam lever for 5 seconds and then pushing it all the way forward for 5 seconds. I did this a few times and by the third round, all done while driving over 25 mph, the system kicked back on.
