To reset the Honda Pilot moonroof close the drivers door, and leave it closed until the procedure is complete. Turn ignition to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.Press and hold the tilt switch, and turn the ignition to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode. Release the tilt switch, and turn the ignition to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.Repeat stepS3 and 4 four times. Note: Each step must be performed within 5 seconds of each other. Check if the AUTO OPEN and AUTO CLOSE function still work. If they still work, the AUTO functions have not been cleared, go back to step 1. If AUTO functions have been cleared, go to step 7.Press and hold the moonroof close switch until the moonroof is titled fully opened. Confirm that the moonroof control unit is reset by using the moonroof AUTO OPEN and AUTO CLOSE function.

To reset the moonroof on the honda pilot, press the moonroof feature, open it completely. Now press the open button and hold it for 12 seconds.

Hi! I am having this issue with my Pilot 2011 sunroof. Yesterday it started doing happening that when I tried closing it, it would go all the way, and then open again by itself. I found a solution in a forum (close it little by little). But today one of my sons tried to open it, and it's like stuck on one side... (right side tries to open, moves back a bit, I start hearing some clanking noise on the left, and sunroof gets stuck). I tried doing the reset procedure, but even there, pressing the TILT position for more than 13 seconds, in the last seconds I hear that noise, like something is stuck... Any ideas? Thanks

Hold the push tilt down until it starts moving in little spurts and closes all the way until it moves up and then back down. Then once it stops you can press the button once and it will work normal again. Figured this out after my son messes some tip trying to stand up through the opening, so glad it worked!

This was really helpful and worked for me to get the moonroof to finally close fully. The key was to do steps 3 and 4 quickly multiple times. Holding tilt, pressing start to ON, then releasing tilt and pressing start to off, and repeating that four times very quickly each time.

I tried all the above suggestions to no avail. Bless your hearts for sharing your experiences, though. However, as I was about to give up (for the moment), I pressed the close button - then stopped, pressed close again - then stopped - and so on, until it closed all the way. I thank Juan for dropping the idea he learned about closing it little by little. 🙏🏼🙂
