When the mass air flow sensor in the Chevy Silverado is out of the range that is expected the truck will give a trouble code of p0101. The mass air flow sensor, or MAF, is in charge of getting enough oxygen to the engine, in order for combustion to happen. If the MAF is not working right then You will notice a lot of issues. Stalling when idle, due to the engine choking, is common. You will also have weird jerky acceleration and may surge when You are driving. The car may also not start at all as it can't get enough initial air to work. The sensor is cheap enough to replace, around 100 for parts and labor, so if You have this trouble code show up it is best to fix it right away.
