The 2016 Toyota RAV4 will accept either DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid, and there's little difference between the two types. Officially, Toyota recommends the use of Toyota genuine OEM brake fluid 00475-1BF03, but You can get away with any DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid from a reputable brand. The manufacturer recommends genuine toyota fluid 00475-1bf03 brake fluid (12 oz). However, you can ask clerks at auto parts stores, such as autozone, for non-toyota brands.
