The Chevy Silverado takes octane 87 unleaded gas. It can run on premium gas, which is octane 91, but it will not get any benefit from doing so. Since premium gas costs a lot more there is now reason to spend the extra money. It will not run on diesel at all. If You put diesel in the gas tank You need to have it towed to a shop and pumped immediately. If You try and start it You will ruin the engine, and if You leave the fuel to sit it will cause damage.

Like most vehicles today, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado needs at least 87 octane regular unleaded gas in most of its engine options. The 4.3L V6 will except 87 octane regular unleaded gas or E85.
