The kind of oil the 2018 Dodge Challenger uses iS5w-20. Your oil needs to be changed eventually. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles is a good rule of thumb. If You don't change it, there will be problems with the engine. Having high quality oil is essential for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into issues with this fluid at some point. A normal problem is a nasty burning smell. This needs to be looked into as soon as possible or the car might explode. Bad oil can cause the engine to fail. You could experience bad gas mileage. Knocking noise may show up from the engine.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger has four different engine sizes available to choose from, depending on the trim of choice. The Challengers with a 3.6 liter engine, GT, SXT and SXT Plus use 5W-20 or 0W-20 oil. While the R/T and the T/A are 5.7 liter eight cylinder engines, they use the same oil type as the previous three trims, just at a higher capacity. The Challenger SRT Demon and the SRT Hellcat are 6.2 liter engines. Larger still are the R/T 392, the SRT 392 and the T/A 392 at 6.4 liters. Despite the slight different engines size between these five models, they all use 0W-40 oil.
