The 2019 Subaru Impreza 2.0 liter engine is equipped with 4.2 US quarts of 0W-20 of motor oil. Oil and filter changes should be scheduled every 7,500-10,000 miles or 12 months if using fully synthetic lubricants, or every 3,000-5,000 miles or 6 months, if using conventional oil. The advantages of using synthetic vs conventional products include better lubrication among moving parts, a longer interval between service appointments and enhanced effectiveness under adverse weather conditions. An oil with a thinner viscosity moves more easily in colder temperatures, coating engine components efficiently and providing better protection against friction and corrosion. Cost for a lube and filter job for the Subaru Impreza ranges between $150-$200 in parts and labor.

Subaru requires that you use 0W-20 for non-turbo engines and 5W-30 for turbo engines. Either oil needs to be full-synthetic.
