You might as well change the filter whenever You change the oil to save You time plus it lasts for just as long as the oil does. The oil in the Pilot should be changed every 7,500 miles or every year, whichever comes first. It is important to change it because it can go bad and it is used to help keep the engine clean. The cost per quart is around $8 to $12 or around $36 to $54 to fully fill up the 4.5 quarts that are needed for the vehicle.
