The type of oil that is used in the 2005 Jeep Wrangler is SAE 5W-30 and the capacity iS4 quarts with a filter for the 2.4 L 4Cylinder engine. For the 4.0 L 6-cylinder engine it useS5W-30 and the capacity iS6 quarts with a filter. It is important to use oil in a vehicle because it helps to keep the engine clean. The oil in the Wrangler should be changed every 3,000 miles and the filter should be changed at the same time. The cost of an oil change is around $30 to $40 in labor costs. You can save money and time by doing it Yourself with MINImal tools like a drain pan, gloves, ratchet, socket and socket extensions.

Just to throw this out there, the 2005 Wrangler or any Jeep did not have a V6 option. It was a 4.0 inline 6. The Pentastar V6 3.6L did not come out until the changed the overall Jeep in 2007.
