The 2008 Dodge Durango came standard with a 3.7L 6-cylinder engine but there were also upgrade options for A4.7L V8 or A5.7L V8 engine. All of these motor will need to run on synthetic 5W-20 motor oil. The 6-cylinder will have a oil capacity of 5 US quarts and the 4.7L V8 will need 6 US quarts for a fill up. The 5.7L V8 being the largest it will need a whole 7 US quarts in order to fill it up all the way. These vehicles are going to need to have their oil changed out every 7,500 miles.

For best performance and maximum protection under all types of operating conditions, the 2008 Dodge Durango manufacture only recommends engine oils that are API certified and meet the requirements of DaimlerChrysler Material Standard MS-6395. The 2008 Dodge Durango SAE 5W-20 engine oil is recommended for all operating temperatures. This engine oil improves low temperature starting and vehicle fuel economy. The engine oil filler cap also shows the recommended engine oil viscosity for the vehicle.
