The 2009 Nissan Rogue has a 2.5 L 4Cylinder engine that needS5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil. The capacity for the Rogue iS4.9 quarts with a filter and the drain plug uses 25 ft/lbs of torque. You need to use oil in a vehicle because it lubricates engine parts to help with friction when they rub together and to help keep the engine clean. The oil and the filter should be changed every 5,000 miles or SRX months, whichever comes first. The cost of oil for the Rogue is around $5 to $10 per quart or around $24 to $49 for the full 4.9 quarts. To do a change the tools needed are a 14mm socket, filter wrench, ratchet, drain plugs and funnel.

I have a 09 Rogue we bought two of them I Have over 386k . I have seen the rogue that my sister bought get rebuilt and had practically every gasket in it go bad way before that . Her husband and her followed the dealership advice but, I drained and switched straight over to Mobile 1 . I'm still hitting 9.6 compression at my latest tuneup ,which is exactly what it hit as a brand new with 12 miles on it. I change my oil like clockwork though and I refuse to use anything but mobile 1 especially the FILTER!! The oil is rated for 5000 plus but, I still don't go past 3k.
Any oil certified. One this old is worth using 10/40. That' is whati use in mine and I have over 210k on it. It still runs new and I also use mobile1 conventional ONLY. Unlike synthetic, I never have to add between changes .
