The type of oil that the 2010 Toyota Tundra takes depends on the engine in the truck. The recommendation of the 4.0 L V6 iS5W-30 Synthetic in all temperatures, for the 4.6 L V8 it should be 0W-20 Synthetic in all temperatures and the 5.7 L V8 engine it should be 5W-20 Synthetic in all temperatures. The capacity for the 4.0 L V6 iS5.5 quarts with a filter and the 4.6 L V8 and 5.7 L V8 engine it iS7.9 quarts with a filter. The oil and the filter for the Tundra should be changed every 6 months or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first. The cost of an oil change if taken to a mechanic is anywhere from $60 to $80 in labor costs.

Toyota recommends using SAE 5W-30 engine oil for the 2010 Tundra equipped with the V6 engine. 10W-30 oil can be used in case 5W-30 is not available but should be changed when 5W-30 becomes available. For models equipped with the 4.6L V8 or the 5.7L V8, Toyota recommends using SAE 0W-20 or 5W-20. Although 5W-20 can be used, Toyota recommends using 0W-20 for the best fuel economy and engine performance.

Changed oil weight when I was losing oil between changes. More than a quart. Compression perfect. No leaks. Changed to 10-40 with no problems. Drive across state often, 160,000 miles. Grocery getter otherwise but grocery store is50 miles each way
