The 2012 Chevy Suburban came standard with A5.3L Vortec V8 engine and You also had an option for A6.0L Vortec V8 engine. These models will both need to run on synthetic 5W-30 motor oil. The standard engine will have a capacity of 6 US quarts while the larger model will have a capacity of 7 US quarts. These numbers are when the filter is included. If You want to take on the oil change Yourself the cost for fluids will be between $30 and $45. If You're going to take her in to the shop the total cost will be between $110 and $140.

The recommended engine oil for the 2012 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 is a 5W-30 viscosity and oil that meets dexos1 quality standards. A 0W-30 viscosity can also be used.
