This vehicle is perfect for traveling long distances with family or adults. The car is robust so you can go safely where you want to. Maintenance has not been a problem so far. Fuel consumption is fair.
It has a lot of space and is able to carry many passengers. When we go to the beach, we can add the extra seats in the back to bring more family members. The mileage is also okay; it could be a lot better but it is a suburban.
Personal pros of the vehicle are that it is great for a family of 6, it also is great for storing stuff for camping trips. It is also comfortable for long rides. The vehicle also can have up to 9 people I believe.
Fuel consumption could be a little better, giving more miles per gallon. The original sound system was not that great. The dashboard cover and the internal door handles are broken; looks like those were done with cheap plastic.
The mileage is a bit low. Also when things go wrong the with vehicle, it costs thousands to fix it. For instance, the transmission usually goes out on these. Also, battery is going out often too. I think as time goes on this model is losing support so you are forced to upgrade to something new.
Did end up having to fix a lot of the vehicle such as having the transmission and airbags replaced. Braking distance was also a slight issue. But other than those issues there were no other issues with vehicle.
The 2012 Chevrolet Suburban has an average owner rating of 4.50 out of 5 which ranks it #3 of 9 other Full Size SUVs.
