The type of oil used in the 2014 Subaru Legacy will depend on which engine it has. The best oil to use in the 2.5 L models is SAE 0W-20 synthetic oil. Mine uses 0w-20 synthetic. It is a 2.5 liter limited. The above answer is for a 3.6 liter engine, according to my owner’s manual.
