The factory standard engine for a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander was a 2.4L 4Cylinder. If You had a higher level trim or purchased the upgrade package You'll have a 3.0L V6 engine in Your vehicle instead. Both engine models are going to need to run on 0W-20 no matter which climate You drive in as this oil is not known to freeze. The oil capacity will actually be larger for the smaller motor with the 2.4L coming in at 4.9 US quarts while the 3.0L will be 4.5 US quarts. These numbers are both including the filter. The oil drain plug is going to require 30 ft-lbs of torque to remove it.

The oil type recommended for 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is their own brand of 100% synthetic oil with a viscosity of 0W-20. Other quality synthetics are fine as well as changes in viscosity for varying driving conditions.
