The suggested transmission fluid for the 2008 Chevrolet Impala is Dexron ViATF which, as reported by the manufacturer, has a capacity of 7.4 quarts or 7 liters for overall filling. To maintain the transmission running properly, the automatic transmission fluid and filter should be serviced and flushed every 60,000 miles. This is important because it will help You prevent any slipping in gear or other issues that can occur that may inflict serious transmission damage. d***y transmission fluid does not allow the transmission gears to lubricate correctly which will lead the gears to grind metal to metal and You will get metal bits and debris within the fluid from the grinding, which will produce further problems. The transmission cost will range from $7 to $10 a quarter, which will depend on the fluid's consistency and brand.

The 2008 Chevrolet Impala uses DEXRON - VI Automatic Transmission Fluid. The 2008 Chevrolet Impala transmission fluid capacity is 7.0 liters (7.4 US Quarts).
DO NOT GET A TRANSMISSION FLUID FLUSH IF YOU BOUGHT YOUR CAR USED WITH 100,000 MILES OR MORE!!! ONLY GET AN EXCHANGE! You can possibly clean out large deposits that can then get lodged in the very tiny fluid channels in the valve body and if ANY of those channels get blocked your car will NOT shift right and it will have to be flushed into oblivion to clear.the channel or you have to remove it and clean it yourself and that is NOT a fun job nor would it be a cheap repair at the shop.
If I put type F transmission fluid in my chevy impala is that bad

Don’t mistaken 7.0 liters as 7.0 quarts. The 7 liters equivalent to quarts is 7.4 quarts.

So if I completely drain my transmission it needs 7.4 qrts to be at spec or just 7
