The check engine light might be on in a 2016 Buick Enclave for many reasons such as a loose gas cap, defective ignition coil, bad MAF sensor, or warn spark plugs. Now You may be wondering why ignition coils are so important to Your car engine and what they are and how they work exactly. Basically ignition coils are known as compact electrical transformers. Their purpose is to take the low 12 volt current normally found in car batteries and convert it into a much higher voltage which is needed to ignite the fuel and start the engine. Each spark plug in a car has its own ignition coil.If You ever need to replace the coils the average cost to fix the ignition coil is between $260 and $380. This price includes labor costs and the cost of the parts.
