The Dodge Ram 1500 series uses DOT 3 brake fluid. This is a type of hydraulic fluid that is designed to work in Your brake system to close and open the calipers. If You notice that Your vehicles brakes are not working very well then the first thing You should do is check the brake fluid. If it is low You should top it off and also inspect the system for any leaks. The most common place that You will find leaks are on the brake lines as they meet the calipers. These fittings have been known to come loose in the past and You will usually notice fluid dripping out of them if You have a leak.

The recommended brake fluid type for the 2020 ram 1500 is dot 3 or 4 brake fluids.
