It is mandatory to use Dexos synthetic oil in a 2018 chevy Trax. To use anything else, would void your engines warranty.

Chevy equips their 2018 Trax SUV with the compact 1.4 liter turbo engine in all of their trims. Also in all of their trim models, the LS, the LT and the Premier, have the option of coming with front wheel drive or all wheel drive. All of the Chevy Trax for 2018 take 5w-30 oil.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Google it. Feel free to change your oil as you like with a good oil of your choice, just don't cause any damage. If your dealer wants to nit pick, refer to the law or go to another dealership !
