The type of transmission fluid the 2011 Chevy Malibu uses is Dexron VI. The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Along with fluid changes, terrible sounds will come from the transmission. Old transmission fluid will be awful to the ear. A worn out torque converter will cause a headache. The transmission is one of the most crucial parts of the vehicle. You will come into issues at some point. The gears can become stuck. There could be jerking. Hard shifts may arise and that is no good. You might experience shudders. Delayed shifts will cause acceleration problems. The transmission could slip. If the transmission fluid leaks, that needs to be patched quickly.

The 2011 chevrolet malibu uses full synthetic dexron vi automatic transmission fluid.
I've got a 2011 Malib, 3rd owner, shop tells me the tyranny fluid is black. They think it wasn't changed often enough but are reluctant to do a full flush because of its age. Would a dealer have better luck changing that fluid?
