If You're having issues with the cooling fan in the 2000 Volkswagen Beetle, You're not alone. Perhaps because this is quickly becoming an older vehicle (my, where have the years gone) or because these relays are prone to fail, I see a lot of issues with these as of late. Luckily, You're able to find and swap it quite easily Yourself, so there's MINImal cost associated. A replacement relay shouldn't break the bank, so it ought to be the firSTStep in Your diagnostic journey. To find it, You'll need to look on the main relay panel, which is located under the left side of the instrument panel. The relay in question is at position 13 -- the relay itself should read 53. You should -- but don't quote me without looking at a diagram -- be able to find it on the far right of the second row.

The cooling fan relay can be found on the relay panel in the fuse box of the 2000 volkswagen beetle.
