The 2001 Chevy Silverado truck came standard with A4 speed automatic transmission. This transmission is going to need to run on Dexron ViAutomatic transmission fluid. This is the absolute most common type of transmission fluid that there is so You should have no problem finding it any store, even a big box store like walmart. The initial fill is going to be 5 US quarts and the total fill up will be 11.2 US quarts total. The capacity being so high You're going to need to purchase a few large jugs and it could cost up to $100 for all the fluids depending on what brand You buy.
