Your 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT uses a battery of group size 25, 26, 75DT, oR86,. Any of those are going to be compatible, but the preference (at least, from the factory) is going to be group size 26. A typical battery here is the Duralast Battery 26-DL with 650 cranking amps and 525 cold cranking amps, and a reserve capacity of 85. This runs around $150 at AutoZone, and tends to be a good choice for the Eclipse GT. Note that it's almost 28 pounds, so if You've got issues carrying that amount of weight, there's no shame getting help. Make sure to dispose of Your old battery responsibly.
