The ASD relay in the 2002 Jeep Liberty is responsible for supplying 12 volts of power to the fuel injectors and ignition coils so they can provide fuel and spark and ultimately fire the engine. It's also powers the oxygen sensor heater circuit and informs the car to shut down when turned off. If it fails You'll experience an inability to crank the engine, stalling immediately after starting and a "check engine" light illuminated. To locate the ASD relay look under hood in the bay. The "R39" relay is connected to the Jeep's ASD and is found in the "power distribution box" on the drivers side of the bay next to the firewall.
